Additional Terms — Teacher Content Responsibility
Teachers may upload images or select images from third-party libraries (such as Pexels) to include in lesson materials. By uploading or selecting images, teachers represent that they have the right to use such images and grant Jianying Chinese a non-exclusive license to display them to students as part of the learning materials. Teachers are solely responsible for ensuring that any uploaded content does not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights.
Acceptable Use of Uploaded Images
Teachers must not upload images that are offensive, illegal, or infringe on the rights of others.
Additional Terms — Video Clips
Use License
The short-form video clips and other educational videos made available on Jianying Chinese (the “Clips”) are provided for personal, non-commercial viewing within the Service only. You may not download, copy, reproduce, screen-record for the purpose of redistribution, rehost on other platforms, or incorporate the Clips into derivative works without our prior written permission. Where a Clip is offered with an explicit download option, that download is for your personal use and does not transfer ownership or any other rights in the Clip.
Use of Third-Party Film, Television, and Series Excerpts
Some Clips include brief excerpts from films, television programmes, or series for the purpose of illustration for teaching and quotation. Such excerpts are used in reliance on the educational and quotation exceptions to copyright provided by Articles 5(3)(a) and 5(3)(d) of Directive 2001/29/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the harmonisation of certain aspects of copyright in the information society. All rights in those excerpts remain with their respective owners. We endeavour to credit the source of each excerpt within the Clip or in accompanying text, and we limit our use to what is necessary to illustrate the teaching point being made.
Copyright Concerns and Takedown Procedure
If you are a rights holder and believe that any Clip on Jianying Chinese makes use of your work in a manner that is not authorised by law, please contact us at privacy@jianyingchinese.com with: (i) a description and identification of the work concerned; (ii) the URL or other location of the Clip in question; (iii) a statement that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act on their behalf; and (iv) your contact details. We will review valid notices promptly and, where appropriate, remove or restrict access to the Clip pending further assessment. We may share the substance of a notice with the affected uploader, who may submit a counter-notice if they believe the use is permitted by law.
Age Requirement
Use of Jianying Chinese, including viewing of Clips, is restricted to users aged 16 and over, in line with the digital-consent threshold applicable under the EU General Data Protection Regulation in our principal jurisdictions of operation.
